Fiona in Mexico

Fiona Nichols was born and educated in Great Britain. Although keen to paint      and draw, she opted to study art history at the Courtauld Institute.                     This lead to spending much time in European museums, art galleries and    churches where she enjoyed the works of the Old Masters.

For many years, she worked in the travel industry as a writer, photographer and editor, and later founded a small publicity company dedicated to the needs of  niche travel-related enterprises. Travel tourism led to writing guide books          and she penned over a dozen illustrated guides, travelling widely to do so.

Fiona has lived in Spain, South Africa, Italy, the States and Singapore -                now dividing her year between South Africa, Mexico and France.

On semi-retirement, Fiona Nichols dusted off her paints, sketch books                and pastels, took a number of courses to learn the basics and vowed to spend much of her free time painting. Occasionally work commitments interrupt the creative processes and she downs brushes to take up the computer and         camera for a new title or book update.

Currently, she is working in pastels and accepts commissions in pastels                 or pencil drawings.
